Find almost any bitcoin business in the world anywhere

Wondering where to spend those coins? Looking for something unusual? Start right here.

Over the last couple of years BitScan has built up an impressive directory of bitcoin and crypto businesses. If you want to find some places in your local area to spend your bitcoins, are looking for an online merchant who stocks what you want to buy, or are simply interested in browsing to see what’s out there, a few clicks will get you what you’re looking for. Ok, ‘any bitcoin business in the world’ might be a minor exaggeration, but with more than 9,000 registered here, BitScan represents an impressive slice of the bitcoin economy.

Directory

There's anything you could imagine here, and a few things you can't

You can search by product/service; location (and distance from where you are); and directly for a business - meaning that whether you’re looking for businesses near your home or websites that stock something in particular, you can easily find what you’re after.

Each entry gives you a website, location, contact details and BitTrust score. This will become more and more important in the future, as more and more people leave feedback, but BitTrust is essentially a measure of a merchant’s reliability. The best merchants will rise to the top, and any bad apples will sink to the bottom.

If you’ve ever wondered what kind of companies accept bitcoin, this directory gives you the answer: everyone. There is a huge range of sectors and businesses represented here. It’s naturally slanted towards the US, since that’s where the majority of bitcoiners are, but there are businesses all over the world. (Out of interest I tried Alaska, Belgium and Helsinki; nothing in Somalia yet, though.) You can do just about anything from paying for insurance to hiring a plumber, via picking up some fine cigars, beard oil and retro t-shirts. Go forth and shop!
