CBD is short for cannabidiol, the second most prominent naturally-occurring cannabinoid found in cannabis, comprising up to 40% of the plant. [1] After THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is by far the most studied natural cannabinoid and is the cannabinoid that possesses the greatest therapeutic potential.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers non-THC based hemp products to be "food based" and therefore legal without a medical marijuana license. CBD Rich Hemp Oil, and the products containing the CBD Oil, is legal in all 50 states.
