Welcome to Cassis. Cassis American Brasserie brings to Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg, a concept of “Continental Comfort Cuisine” in the tradition of European Brasseries, yet with the relaxed flair of American eateries and a feeling of “always been there”.
We are excited to bring to St. Petersburg a concept of affordable "Continental Comfort Cuisine" in the tradition of European Brasseries, yet with the relaxed flair of American eateries; hence our concept of "American Brasserie”. A brasserie is defined as a restaurant serving simple hearty food and drinks at affordable fares, a place that brings people together in a vibrant friendly atmosphere. The menu is continental and moderately priced, ideal for quick bites or leisurely meals. Our Chef, Jeremy Duclut, revisits American classics with an innovative twist, and flavors his cuisine with subtle elements from his traditional French training and native Burgundy. Our goal is to delight you by offering impeccable service and feel good experience whether you come to enjoy our lunch, brunch, dinner, small bites, afternoon ice cream and desserts or just a cocktail or a coffee drink on our terrace.
Cassis American Brasserie pays tribute to traditional brasseries, yet with a unique, modern touch. The restaurant, designed by local architectural firm Wannemacher Jensen Architects and built by JMC Development, features striking elements such as a traditional 26 ft long zinc top bar, dark mahogany wood, oversize framed mirrors, hand-painted cement floor tiles, chocolate brown leather banquettes and booths, and steel metal details handcrafted by local metal artist Michael Peart from PMD Design Studio. Our private dining room is discreetly linked to the main dining room through a softly lit 11 foot tall back-bar. The private dining experience is a totally different feel: sleek, modern, daring. The outdoor terrace offers a traditional bistro area in the Parisian Café fashion, and a dining section in the South Beach style with colorful offset umbrellas.
As French/American restaurateurs, we contemplated food, atmosphere and romance.
As entrepreneurs, we considered Location, Location, Location. Our vision came together on Beach Drive, across from the marina, in downtown St. Petersburg: The perfect setting for a “promenade” reminiscent of the glamorous French Riviera in the 1920’s and 1930’s where Europeans and Americans would leisure at the terraces of bustling restaurants. So, we created Cassis American Brasserie, a restaurant named after a charming town on the French Riviera and a blood-red cherry used in luscious cocktails.
